01

Who we are and what this policy covers

Unburden is operated by Control Your Destiny Ltd as a Dynaquorium service. In this policy, “Unburden”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to the operator of the Unburden website, applications and related services.

This policy explains how we handle personal information when you create an account, request or provide a listening session, use Aurem, make or receive a payment, donate or sponsor listening hours, advertise, manage a partner account, report a safety concern, or use our public resources.

02

Information we collect

We collect only the information reasonably needed to operate, secure and improve the service:

  • Account and identity data: email address, preferred or display name, authentication provider, account role and sign-in security records.
  • Profile and matching data: country, language, time window, session format, listening preference, availability, training or verification status, and whether a session is paid or pro bono.
  • Payments and funding data: payer email, package, amount, currency, payment status, provider reference, entitlement and transaction timestamps. We do not store full payment-card or mobile-money credentials.
  • Safety and support data: reports, incident category, priority, status, actions taken and information you choose to provide so we can respond.
  • Partner and advertising data: organization, authorized contact, billing information, campaign creative, selected country or language, budget, impressions and clicks.
  • Technical and activity data: essential cookies, device or browser information, IP-derived security signals, page or feature events, and diagnostic logs. Activity events are not session conversation content.
  • Content you submit: brand assets, public directory contributions, account support messages and other material you deliberately upload.
03

Listening sessions and sensitive information

Unburden does not record, transcribe or store the audio, video or text of a listening session by default. We do not use what is said in a listening session to build an advertising profile, infer distress for advertisers or sell sensitive personal information.

To arrange a session, an available listener may see the minimum matching information needed, such as language, format, requested time, listening style and country. Member identity and email are not shown on the public listener request board. You should not share unnecessary personal, financial, medical or contact information during a session.

If you make a safety report, the report itself may include sensitive information. We restrict access to authorized safety personnel and retain it only as long as reasonably needed for safety, legal and accountability purposes.

04

Aurem and generative AI

Aurem is an AI product companion, not a human listener, therapist, medical professional or emergency service. When you use Aurem, your message and limited conversation context are sent to the configured generative-AI provider—currently Cloudflare Workers AI, with OpenAI available as a configured fallback—to generate a reply.

Unburden does not use Aurem messages for advertising and does not save the message text as an Unburden conversation record in the current service design. Provider processing and short-lived security logging may still apply. Do not enter information you would not want processed by an AI provider. Aurem can make mistakes; verify important information and use local emergency or crisis services when urgent help is needed.

05

Google sign-in and other identity providers

If you choose Google sign-in, we request only the basic profile data needed to authenticate you and create your Unburden account, such as your email address, name and profile identifier. We do not request access to Gmail, Google Drive, contacts, calendars or unrelated Google data.

Google data is used only for sign-in, account security and account provisioning. It is not sold, used for interest-based advertising or shared with sponsors or listeners. You may disconnect Unburden through your Google Account permissions and may also request deletion of your Unburden account.

You may instead use email authentication or ChatGPT sign-in. Those providers process authentication information under their own privacy terms.

06

How and why we use information

We use information to create and secure accounts; match members and listeners; schedule and fund sessions; verify listeners; deliver Aurem responses; process payments; provide receipts and impact reporting; operate safety controls; prevent fraud and abuse; support users; maintain crisis-resource directories; administer advertising; comply with law; and improve service reliability.

Depending on where you live and the context, we rely on performance of our contract with you, your consent, our legitimate interests in operating a safe service, and compliance with legal obligations. You may withdraw consent for optional processing at any time, without affecting earlier lawful processing.

07

When information is shared

We disclose only what is necessary to:

  • identity and infrastructure providers such as Supabase, Google, ChatGPT/OpenAI and Cloudflare;
  • payment processors such as PesaPal for the transaction you initiate;
  • a matched member or listener, limited to the information needed to arrange and conduct the session;
  • authorized safety staff, professional advisers, regulators, courts or emergency authorities when reasonably necessary to address serious risk, enforce rights or comply with law; and
  • business service providers working under appropriate confidentiality and data-protection obligations.

Sponsors, donors and NGOs receive aggregate impact information, not member identities or conversation content. Advertisers receive campaign performance, not session content, safety reports or personal profiles derived from emotional state. We do not sell listening-session content.

08

Retention and deletion

We keep account and profile data while your account is active and for a limited period afterward where needed for security, dispute resolution or law. Matching requests expire or are closed when fulfilled or cancelled. Financial records may be kept for tax, audit and anti-fraud obligations. Safety records are kept only as long as reasonably necessary for safeguarding and accountability.

To delete your account or request deletion of personal information, use the account controls where available or email privacy@finengine.org from your registered email address with the subject “Unburden data deletion”. We may retain narrowly limited information where law, safety, fraud prevention or the establishment of legal claims requires it. Deletion from encrypted backups may occur on the normal backup rotation.

09

Your choices and rights

Subject to applicable law, you may ask to access, correct, export or delete your information; restrict or object to processing; withdraw consent; or receive information about a decision affecting you. You may also complain to the data-protection authority that serves your location.

We may ask you to verify your identity before completing a request. If you are acting for another person or an organization, we may ask for proof of authority.

10

Security, transfers and cookies

We use access controls, encrypted connections, role-based permissions, limited operational logging and vetted infrastructure providers. No online service can promise absolute security, so please use a unique password, protect your device and report suspected unauthorized access promptly.

Unburden is designed for a global community. Providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, we use contractual and organizational safeguards for international transfers.

We use essential cookies or local storage for authentication, security, preferences and service operation. We do not place advertising trackers based on what you say in a listening session.

11

Children and young people

Unburden accounts and listening rooms are for adults aged 18 or older. Young people may use the public youth-support and crisis-resource directory without creating an adult account. Those resources may link to independent services governed by their own privacy policies.

If we learn that a child has created an account or that we collected a child’s personal information contrary to this rule, we will restrict and delete it as appropriate. A parent, guardian or young person may contact us at privacy@finengine.org.

12

External services, changes and contact

Links to crisis providers, payment providers and other external services are provided for convenience; their own privacy notices govern information you give them. Unburden does not automatically send your precise location to a crisis provider.

We may update this policy as the service, providers or law changes. We will publish the revised date here and provide additional notice when a change materially affects your rights.

For privacy questions or requests, contact privacy@finengine.org. For general service support, contact support@finengine.org.
